Apprentis d'Auteuil - helping families worldwide
Apprentis d’Auteuil: Family and child protection programs in more than 50 countries – get to know more about our charity work.
Apprentis d’Auteuil is a catholic foundation that has been working on youth protection for more than 150 years now. A major voice of children in difficulty in France, the charity in now recognized by the United Nations with a special advisory status in the Economic and Social Council.
We have extended our child protection programs in more than 50 countries worldwide with the help of local operators. Our goal is not only to provide education and shelter to youth but also to help families in need. Apprentis d’Auteuil believes that supporting families is the first step towards helping children. Family support, child protection and education are at the core of our work – all these actions help the social integration and prepare for a better future for each and every one of us. Let us show you how we are helping families in need worldwide!
Helping families: family centers
Apprentis d’Auteuil has constructed a childcare center in France which has been a model for our other centres to help families in need in the world. This establishment welcomes young mothers and their children and provides them with psychological support and training. We also make sure they have social gatherings so that they can break their isolation and connect with others. We have created the Family Open House program to follow the same principles in family support: here, family member can reach out to others and share their experiences.
Helping families often starts with helping mothers, as it happens also in our family centre in Lebanon. There, they receive training and are taught foreign languages and computer use so that they can reintegrate the working world and provide for their children. By strengthening their self-confidence, parents will be more successful at managing their families’ lives too.
Family and child protection programs
Currently, Apprentis d’Auteuil is seeking funds to set up family and child protection programs. In Morocco for instance, we are trying to improve our already existing program created with the help of our local partners. Our plans include helping families by developing a care and nursery service and provide psychological aid to parents with support groups. If our goals are met, we will be helping 150 children and their families living in the streets.
If you would like to support our actions, please consider a donation to one of Apprentis d’Auteuil’s projects.
