Get to know more about the way we use education, social and mental support in helping youth gain confidence.
Apprentis d’Auteuil has recently celebrated its 150-year anniversary being at the service of children in distress in France. We have worked for more than 20 years on a worldwide level helping youth and their families with education, training and mental health support.
As an international catholic charity, we firmly believe that healthy relationships are one of the most important factors to succeed in life. That is why we focus our work not only on providing children with education but also by rebuilding their confidence. Our childhood support is based on trust in each other – let us show you how it works on a daily basis.
Helping youth with mediation
"Trust can save the future" is the key idea in Apprentis d’Auteuil’s work. It means that we believe each and every child has something to offer to the world – they just need to be encouraged. As a child protection charity, our goal is to give them confidence, an idea shared by all of our trainers, teachers and even our administrative staff.
We are also helping youth with mediation and other services to resolve conflicts. When children see that they can actually act to improve their lives and they have effect on others, they quickly learn how important collaboration is – and it even helps them in their education.
Childhood support by training and education
Apprentis d’Auteuil’s main focus is education, because we are aware of the fact that dropping out of school can later cause problems in entering the job market and resulting in social and economic downfall. For us, childhood support is inconceivable without quality training – young people need learn and strengthen their interpersonal skills so that they can later become successful members of society. Currently, we are working in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Morocco and other locations, providing career guidance and professional training to children in street situations.
Of course, our work wouldn’t be possible without the help and guidance of our operational partners throughout the world. We are helping youth by conducting preliminary studies before implementing a new program to ensure that the technical and financial needs are met. Apprentis d’Auteuil regularly follows up the program, its effects on the children so that we can assess if there’s a need for change. Being thorough has led us to support more than 50,000 children in the world as of today.
